First Stop to Yellowstone - Marion Campground, Marion, Illinois

The first leg of the trip went without any issues.  We traveled up through Tennessee and  Kentucky and into Illinois.  The traffic was light and the scenery wasn't very remarkable but it was pretty.  I was struck with how green, open and rural the scenery looked.  But we arrived with plenty of time to setup in the site, below.  After having time to relax in the shade, we had a very restful night.

The next day, we turned around and went back the way we came to visit the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky.  Dinah is a big time quilter and she just had to see the while we were in the area.  If you love quilting, this is a wonderful museum showing the talents of the most talented today's quilters.

This, of course, is Dinah at the entrance to the Quilters Museum.  We weren't allowed to take pictures on the inside, so I can't share any of what we saw there.  Trust me, the art work was  amazing.  The amount of planning, artistic vision and final execution are really staggering on some of the examples displayed.  A beautiful museum for art lovers whether you are a quilter or not.  They also offered guided tours to give more detail information about the quilts if you were so inclined.

At the suggestion of our friend, Bob Mead, we stopped on the way to Paducah to visit the home of Superman.  Metropolis, Illinois.  Superman and Superwoman were there!!  They were kind to pose for pictures for us since they are now retired from crime fighting!

Superman and Superwoman in their "Golden Years"!
Look pretty good for their age, huh?

This, of course, is superman at his best!

I have more pictures that I didn't upload because I didn't want this post to be too long.  If you are interested in seeing more pics of our trip not shown, click here.

At the end of the day, we were pretty tired and headed back to our home away from home.  We walked the puppies, ate dinner and got ready to leave tomorrow for Bevier, Missouri.

Remember to check out our total trip site at this link to Furkot.com

We'll be posting more once we get set up in Bevier.  We'll be in touch!!
